Random Eavesdropping

My girls LOVE to color pages in coloring books and then cut out the "people" as dolls, and play house with them. I overheard this comment the other day.

Miss C yells, "My kids are RIPPED!" She said it just like a proud personal trainer, though that's not what she meant.

Thanks for the laugh out loud! When we were kids, we used to take the JCP and Sears catalog and cut out people, bedrooms, toys, all the things you would need for a house and those living in it and play for hours. We would also make paperdolls in the van on long trips, coloring and cutting them out.

When I was a kid we used Sears catalogs and covered them with dish towels for the covers and wash cloths rolled up for the pillows. We then would lay down Barbie and Ken (Yes they were married) and play house. Of course with all of the cousins I was the youngest. I usually got the "ratty looking" Barbie with balled spots. Those were the days.

I was just having the same exact memory, Mama Hen! Wasn't that the best? I sometimes still get the urge to want to do that...alas, Iris just isn't interested in cutting or coloring that much at the moment, so I can't live vicariously through her...

Your girls are the sweetest things...
